The Ethnographic Museum of Berat is located in the heart of the historic city, inside a typical 18th-century Berat house, which itself is a magnificent example of traditional Albanian architecture.

The museum showcases the life, customs, and culture of Berat’s citizens over the centuries through a rich collection of traditional clothing, tools, household items, handcrafted objects, wooden furniture, and elements of family life. The exhibition is organized to reflect the traditional layout of a Berat house, with separate areas for men, women, the kitchen, and reception rooms.

In addition to the original objects, visitors can admire the interior architecture featuring wooden balconies, arched windows, and traditional decorations, reflecting the craftsmanship and distinctive style characteristic of Berat.

Today, the museum is one of the city’s most visited cultural sites, offering a vivid journey through time and a deeper understanding of Albanian urban life during the Ottoman period.
