Tabakëve Bridge is one of the oldest historical monuments in Tirana and a living testament to the city’s urban development during the Ottoman period. Located near “Zhan D’Ark” Boulevard, it represents an important cultural landmark for the city. Built in the 18th century, the bridge served as a crossing over the Lana River, connecting the city center with its eastern areas, where workshops and artisan markets were located.

Its name comes from the tanners’ guild (leather workers), who once had their workshops in this area and used the bridge to transport goods. Built from stone with an elegant arch and typical Ottoman structure, Tabakëve Bridge has been carefully preserved and today stands as a symbol of the city’s history and traditional Albanian craftsmanship.

After recent restorations, the bridge has become a tourist attraction where visitors can experience the atmosphere of old Tirana and enjoy the contrast with the surrounding modern architecture. It remains an ideal spot for photography, walks, and exploring the capital’s historical heritage.
