The Krujë Ethnographic Museum is one of the most treasured cultural gems of the historic town of Krujë. It is located within the castle, in a typical 19th-century urban house that once belonged to a wealthy merchant family. Built in 1764, the building showcases traditional Albanian architecture with a stone courtyard, a water fountain, rooms with carved ceilings, and original furnishings.
The museum showcases the lifestyle of Krujë families in past centuries, exhibiting authentic objects such as traditional clothing, household utensils, work tools, weapons, as well as items that illustrate the role of women, customs, hospitality, and family traditions of the time.
Visitors can experience the atmosphere of a traditional Albanian home, where each room tells its own story — from the guest room and kitchen to the wool workshop or the bride’s chamber. Today, the Krujë Ethnographic Museum serves as a vivid window into Albanian culture and heritage, bringing visitors closer to the spirit of traditional life in past centuries.
